MEMBERSHIP
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
In order to become a member of the Emporia Board of REALTORS®, please follow the instructions provided
below.
General Overview:
The Emporia Board of REALTORS® is a member of the
Kansas Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®.
The purpose of the EBR is to unite those engaged in real estate, to promote high standards of conduct,
and to further the interest of home ownership.
EBR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Applicant (new member) becomes licensed and selects with which broker to associate.
- Applicant
has 10 days from license date to submit written application and dues to EBR Membership/MLS Committee Chairperson.
- A $25 late charge is due if not paid in 10 days.
- Membership/MLS
Committee reviews application and forwards dues
to Treasurer for deposit.
- Secretary
of EBR publishes name to EBR Board of Directors for approval. Voting
for approval of application may take place either in person or via email.
- Board Dues owing are prorated to date of licensure.
- Additional Dues: New Broker Member/Business:
$150 application fee to EBR (one-time fee). New
Member: $100 application fee to EBR (one-time fee). **New Member Fee is shown as part of Dues Schedule.
- Upon
approval, Applicant is required to successfully complete the KAR REALTOR® New
Member Orientation and Quiz, an open book test, regarding the Code of Ethics and local board and MLS By-Laws.
- Applicant
has 60 days to complete orientation and
quiz. It is the responsibility of Applicant to notify Membership/MLS Committee of successful completion of this
requirement.
